I pretty much love every color lipstick in the Universe, well...except for brown. Brown looks like crap on me, literally. I especially love blue pinks, the whiter the better. About six years ago my good friend, and fellow makeup-a-holic Krista, and I went to the now defunct Prescriptives custom gloss bar. There were all these test tubes full of pure pigment gloss. You could choose and custom blend any color gloss and even add shimmer! I knew this was my chance to get the mod white/pink I had always fantasized about. The salesgirl who was helping me was getting really frustrated because she had to start my batch over so many times. I just kept screaming at her "I want it whiter" "Add more white" She wouldn't listen to me. Finally it was decided that my custom gloss would be pure white, with the teeniest tiniest drop of pink. Then it was perfect. Too bad the texture sucked. I do think I used it all up though. And I remember thinking to myself....this still isn't white enough.
In February I got invited to the launch of MAC's Archie Girls collection. I didn't guy anything from that launch, but I did pick up the Nicki Minaj Viva Glam 2 lipstick. It is pretty close to being my perfect bluish-lavender-pink-white mod lipstick. I was a fan of Nicki Minaj herself, for a moment, and then I saw her on TV and it was a total turn-off. She did not seem very nice at all. But this lipstick is really pretty and the proceeds of the sale goes towards AIDS research.

I wear my mod pinks in lots of different way. Sometimes I create a thick cat-eye, layer on lashes and go full mod. For a more modern look, I like to pair blue pink lipstick with warm brown eyeshadow. It makes for and interesting constrast. I also love to do my "Malibu Barbie" makeup and go crazy with bronzer and highlighter with clean eyes.
It's so cliche, but I really am mod about mod pink lipstick. If I see it I buy it. And I can't stop. Ever.
We've known each other for what... 11 years now, and still addicted to the same damned lipstick color! You need that Flash palette...whiteness control is at your fingertips.
